  • Poem "FIRST EVENING" by Arthur Rimbaud

    "-She was very undressed

    And big indiscreet trees

They threw their leaves at the windows

    Cleverly, very close, very close.

    Sitting on my big chair,

    Half-naked, she clasped her hands.

On the floor shivered with pleasure

Her little feet, so thin, so thin.

    - I looked, wax color,

    A small bushy ray

    Fluttering in her smile

And on her breast, - fly on the rosebush.

    - I kissed her thin ankles.

She gave a soft, brutal laugh.

Which was scattered in clear trills,

    A nice crystal laugh.

    Little feet under the shirt

They ran away: “Do you want to finish!”

    - The first audacity permitted,

    Laughter pretended to punish!

    - Poor things throbbing under my lip,

    I gently kissed his eyes:

    - She threw her cute head

    Back: “Oh! That’s even better!...

Sir, I have two words to say to you…”

    - I threw the rest into his breast.

In a kiss, which made her laugh

With a good laugh that was good enough…

    - She was very undressed -

    And big indiscreet trees

    - They threw their leaves at the windows

    - Maliciously close, very close"
